Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We group ours into three categories:
- Essential: sign you in, keep you secure, run the demo and remember your choices. Always on.
- Analytics: count visits and feature use so we can improve the product.
- Diagnostics: record errors and performance so we can fix problems. Session replay is part of Diagnostics: Datadog (US) records a masked replay of your visit, covering clicks, page layout and navigation, with all text and inputs hidden, so we can see how a bug happened. It starts only after you turn Diagnostics on yourself, never by region default, and is kept for Datadog's standard retention period.
You can turn Analytics and Diagnostics on or off at any time. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a choice to turn them off.
With Analytics off, PostHog still counts page views and visits anonymously, using a hash on its side that resets daily and no cookies or identifier on your device; a Global Privacy Control signal turns this off too.
